Trouble as Ikotun police arrest man for posting nude pictures of ex-lover on social media

A 31-year-old heartbroken man, Akinmisire Adebayo, has been arrested and charged to court for allegedly posting nude pictures of his former lady lover on social media after she supposedly dumped him.

According to media reports, the arrest and arraignment followed a report by the victim, simply known as Esther, at the Ikotun Division after she saw her nude pictures on social media.

They were said to be lovers before their relationship collapsed and Esther walked away. But the decision to dump him did not go down well with Adebayo, who had her nude pictures when their relationship was cordial as he usually takes her pictures while they were having sex.

Thus, the DPO, CSP Adagba Johnson, despatched Police operatives, who trailed, arrested, and detained him at the station for interrogation over his conduct. During interrogation, Adebayo reportedly told the Police that he loved Esther very much before she dumped him and he wanted her back if she will agree to come back to him. He also admitted to having sent the nude pictures on social media and was ready to withdraw them.

However, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged conduct, wherein he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, SP Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for the hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he committed the alleged offence. Presiding Magistrate, Mrs K. A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of #500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of a means of livelihood.

He was remanded at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till February 14, 2023, for mention.
