Sharwama business provides income for unemployed undergraduates - Alimosho residents

Alimosho residents seem to have welcomed the sudden rate at which Shawarma shops are springing up in the local government area, saying the development should be welcomed as it provides income for unemployed undergraduates.

Shawarma, a snack which has managed to draw the interest of many Alimosho dwellers contains a healthy combination of beef or chicken, coleslaw, bread and other ingredients. Also, it can be found at almost every crook and cranny of major markets, and it's gradually finding its way into major bus stops.

While some believe the development should be welcome as it provides a scalable platform of opportunities for unemployed undergraduates, others are of the opinion that it's becoming a nuisance to Alimosho.

In a conversation with AlimoshoToday, Amusan Tolulope said: "I must confess, Nigerians are fond of rushing businesses that are moving fast. This is similar to the case of Paga. They keep on opening, including those who are not equipped enough to produce good quality".

When asked about what she felt about the development, Oyenuga Adetoro, a resident of Igando, said, "Well, Just like how POS shops litter the street, it's a small scale business that requires little skill and provides employment".

"I've tried 5 of them. Just two got the exact recipe" Mariam Muhammed told AlimoshoToday. She went on to add that practice makes perfect. "And since it's their way of surviving, they should keep selling. But advice should be taken from experts to improve quality and as a result sustain the interest of Alimosho residents", she added.
