NIGERIA DECIDES 2023: Thugs invade Alimosho collation centre, harass LP agents

SOME thugs assaulted Labour Party (LP) agents at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre for Alimosho at the Technical College, Ikotun in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

In a now-viral video shared by a popular Twitter influencer, Rinu Oduala, one of the collation officers identified as Funmi was seen pleading for help, alleging that APC thugs were beating officials at INEC’s collation centre in Ikotun.

“This is Funmi from Alimosho, we are at Ikotun local government and APC people have started beating us here, they have beaten most of our people, they are injuring us here please we need people to come to our rescue,” the lady in the viral video said.

Recent information states that Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party is leading by votes in the results of the Presidential election held in Lagos on Saturday, February 25, 2023. INEC had declared 17 local governments as of 3:30 am on Monday, February 27, 2023, before the results collation was adjourned to 10: 00 am.

But, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of APC is leading in the local governments with 10 Local Government Areas already, while Peter Obi won seven. Tinubu has won Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Surulere.

Meanwhile, Eti-Osa, Amuwo Odofin, Ikeja, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, and Somolu has been won by Obi.

In total, Obi polled 449,088 votes, while Tinubu garnered 416,431. Only the results of Alimosho, Ojo, and Mushin are expected.
