Man remanded in Kirikiri for engaging underage in sex romp in Igando

A 33-year-old man, Musbau Raji, has been remanded in the Kirikiri prison for allegedly luring a 17-year-old girl and engaging her in a sex romp in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA.

According to media reports, the suspect, Raji, has been arrested and charged before the court for defilement.

Following the charge before the court, Raji may likely spend several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if he is found guilty by the court.

According to the Police, he lured the girl into his apartment,  engaged her in sex and having satisfied himself, allowed her to leave.

But trouble started after the girl’s parents got to know, and asked her what happened and she claimed that she was lured into it without her 'consent.'

The matter was then reported to the Police at the Igando Division in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho LGA, and the suspect, Raji, was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged conduct.

While being interrogated, Raji reportedly admitted to having done so but with her consent while the victim insisted that she was lured into the act.

However, the police found him culpable because the victim is still a minor under the Law, and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

The court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.

The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
