AS part of efforts to boost access to effective, prompt, affordable, and quality healthcare services in Lagos State, the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) has organised a one-day sensitization campaign in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA to educate the residents of the council area and its environs on the need to enrol in the Ilera Eko health insurance plan.

While addressing council residents during the program held at Ikotun High School, on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, reiterated that the Ilera Eko health insurance plan is envisioned to ensure that residents have access to effective, quality, and affordable health care services.

Akinsanya then commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his determination and commitment towards the provision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the state, noting that the health insurance plan will provide opportunities for residents to be conscious of their health.

It should be noted that Ilera Eko was inaugurated in February 2021 by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, to achieve universal health coverage for Lagos residents.

It is a call to action for all residents to prioritise their health and buy into the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS). It connotes the well-being and health of all residents of Lagos State.

An individual is required to pay #8,500 per annum, while a family of six, comprising a father, mother, and four children of less than 18 years, is to pay #40,000 per annum. #6,000 will be paid as an additional amount for children below 18 years and #8,500 for additional children above 18 years.
