THE governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State, Gbadebo Vivour-Rhodes, has promised to run a government of transparency and accountability if elected into office.

According to media reports, the LP guber candidate said this during his campaign flag-off at Ijegun in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho Local Government Area.

Vivour-Rhodes, while addressing party members, also said he was ready to tackle the infrastructure deficit in the state.

He said, “We are not campaigning, this is a movement and we are doing things to empower that movement to make people have a sense of belonging that this is their project. It’s not just for the politicians.

“We are leaving politics to the politicians alone. We are bringing everybody so that they can get involved. Our government is going to be a transparent and accountable one.

“It is going to be one that the social contract between government and the people is sacrosanct because Lagos State keeps taking pride in the amount they generate. If you are generating money from people, there must be a social contract.

“We must be accountable; we must be able to give line-by-line items of how we spend the budget. We should take time in delivering projects at the best possible cost, at the fastest possible time with the best possible materials.”
