THE leadership of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA on Monday, March 13, 2023, declared their support for the reelection of Governor Sanwo-Olu as the Governor of Lagos State for a second term in office.
While speaking during the meeting, the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Arowosafe Adesina Chinoyen, stressed that the Governor had shown love towards civil servants and that necessitated the need for endorsement and continuity.
“Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been a friend of workers. I can say it with all sense of responsibility. He promised workers would not be sacked during Covid and you kept to that promise. You have put your name in gold for being the first Governor to pay above the minimum wage.
“We have tested and have the trust in Mr Governor, and we have found him to have listening ears and a large heart to accommodate us,” Comrade Chinoyen stated.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, also described Sanwo-Olu as a tested and trusted leader, calling on workers and citizens to be wary of changing a winning formation to avoid disastrous outcomes.
“We are irrevocably committed to his reelection. On your mandate 4+4, we stand!” Akinsanya said.
