THE Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Olufunke Akindele, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, vowed that if elected in 2023, the PDP government would amend unpopular market laws.
She stated this when she took campaigns to some notable markets in Alimosho LGA as part of the three-day tour of the council with the party’s candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor).
Both the candidate and his running mate have been meeting with critical stakeholders and groups in the communities making up the Alimosho LGA, regarded as the most populated local government in Nigeria.
Akindele, who toured various markets in Alimosho to seek support ahead of the 2023 general elections, reiterated that the PDP government led by Jandor would not close down any market but punish whoever flouted the law.
At the Council Market in Alimosho, Akindele told traders that only the PDP candidate has the vision and passion to make Lagos work for all residents, regardless of ethnic background.
Addressing traders at Igando Market, in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of Alimosho, Akindele told the traders that she would not disappoint women, youth, and children in the state if given the opportunity to serve.
