Igando-Ikotun LCDA holds monthly CDC/CDA general meeting

THE Igando-Ikotun LCDA Community Development Committee (CDC) and the Community Development Associations (CDAs) have held their monthly general meeting at the LCDA Secretariat, Ikotun.

During the meeting, held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the CDC Chairman, Pastor Ojo Samuel Olasupo, welcomed those present to the meeting while reporting on the State’s CDAC meeting. 

While speaking, Pastor Olasupo urged members to report any domestic violence within their territory and commended them for their promptness in submitting the list of beneficiaries for the Lagos State Government's palliative empowerment.8991

He also encouraged CDA members to register with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, LASRRA, adding that those without the Lagos State Certificate of Registration can visit the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs for regularisation of their records. 

He equally appealed to the CDAs to start taking steps on the renewal of their CDA registration at the State and the Local Government levels while mandating all CDA Chairmen to come to the CDC Office at the Secretariat with the photocopies of their CDA Certificate of Registration for both levels of Government.
 
Pastor Olasupo then announced that each CDA is to pay a monthly levy of N1,000 to the CDC.

On his part, the Supervisor for Agric, Evang Olufemi Abolarinwa, appealed, on behalf of the CDA, to the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Comrade Lasisi Akinsanya, to help waive any previous outstanding renewal debt owed the LCDA by the CDAS, adding that they should be allowed to pay from Year 2023. 8993

Meanwhile, Comrade Akinsanya commended the CDC/CDAs for their partnership with the LCDA while notifying them of the By-laws made by the Legislative body of the LCDA. He also promised the communities of more infrastructural projects. While mentioning the ongoing project at Prince Adeyemi Street in Ikotun, he assured the meeting attendees that the Dare Street construction project will soon commence. 

Also, some Working Committees that were constituted by the CDC were introduced to the members present at the meeting, including the Security Committee, Welfare Committee, Environmental Committee, Conflict and Arbitration Committee, Ways and Means Committee, Publicity Committee, Finance Committee, and Electricity Committee.

Similarly, the officer in charge of Street Naming was introduced to the stakeholders, who charged the CDA leaders to help reach out to owners of streets within their CDAs to come for the renewal of their Street names to avoid losing it out to others.

Dignitaries at the meeting include the Principal Officers (Chairmen, General Secretaries, and Treasurers) of CDAS within the LCDA; the CDC Public Relations Officer, Hon. Awolowo Olasunkanmi, who anchored the meeting; the Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Ayinde Lasisi; Executive Vice-Chairman of Igando-Ikotun, Comr. Mojisola Badmus; Supervisor for Agric,  Evang Olufemi Abolarinwa; SSA Agric,  Mr Ishola Kazeem; H.O.D Agric, Hon. Ganiyu Balogun; Deputy Leader of Igando-Ikotun LCDA Legislative House, Hon. Olatunji Apena; Supervisor for Environment, CS Ojo Akanni Fatai; CO of Igando-Ikotun LCDA; Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps; CDC executive members; and  Joint CDA Coordinators; among others.
