The Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, has, yesterday Friday, January 7, 2022, addressed the youth present at the end of the year/award party of Bucknor FC to shun crime and embrace sports as an alternative to crime.
While speaking at the event, the council chairman reiterated his commitment to the development of youth and football in the council area, he also urged the youth to shun a crime-filled life.
"It is no longer a secret that I am passionate about football, and I want you all to say no to crime, be a footballer and not a criminal.
"Preventing crime from happening requires an active mind and body. It means paying attention to your instincts, to other people, and to your surroundings. It means constantly training your brain, and limbs to act defensively. It is more than just a few martial arts moves. It is a way of life.
"Say no to hard alcohol, hard drugs, and say no to rape. Many famous footballers have been sentenced to jail due to criminal act," he urged.
He has also appreciated the youth for their support towards his administration.
"I am always proud of you and I love you all with passion, I want you to realize that if you work very hard you can be somebody tomorrow", he admonished.
Dignitaries present at the event include; members of the Football Executive Council; Lagos Island LGA Vice-Chairman, Igando-Ikotun Nulge Chairman, Comrade Arowosafe Adesina; Olayinka Olajide, FIFA referee; DPO Ikotun, CSP Adagba; as well as patrons of the Club.
