THE Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya has urged the council residents to pay their rates and levies through the banks and stop paying cash to any revenue collector and staff.

According to information reaching Alimoshotoday through the Public Affairs unit of the council area, the Council's helmsman stated this at the Year 2023 Budget Stakeholders/Consultative Forum held at the Council secretariat, yesterday, Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

During the meeting, Akinsanya reiterated his commitment to promoting unity among communities, political parties, religions and associations, noting that his administration's plan for people-oriented projects and programmes is not negotiable.

"We urge you, as always, to pay your rates and levies thereby helping Government to serve you better. I implore everyone to embrace our cashless policy to make the revenue collection system more effective by paying directly to the designated bank accounts as it is printed on the Electronic Rates Payers Bill (E-Billing) issued to you.

“So, do not pay cash to any revenue collector or officer, make use of the bank and I assure you that your receipt shall be processed in no time.

"I assure you that we shall continue to manage and judiciously utilize all available resources for optimal benefits in order to effectively deliver on the dividends of democracy,” Akinsanya said.

He then promised to complete all ongoing projects and take the health sector as a priority in the year 2023 budget.

On his part, the Council-Manager,  Mr Samsideen Odeleye, enjoined the council residents to maintain the existing peace in the area, adding that they should also discharge their civic responsibilities by paying their rates and levies as when due.
