“We have decided to open more offices in Lagos to accommodate more people. We plan to open more immigration centres in Lagos. All passport application processes are now online to eradicate corruption and fast processing of passports. If we can solve the problem of passport processing in Lagos, we will have solved 50 per cent of all passport issues in Nigeria.

“One of our mandates is to eradicate human trafficking and irregular and unsafe migration that are prevalent among our youths as a result of the desire to seek greener pastures abroad.8390

“Many foreigners enter Lagos daily without proper documentation. This is one of our responsibilities, and we must tackle it,” he said.

On his part, Akinsanya thanked the Comptroller and his management team for the visit, adding that “the immigration service is the hospitality checkpoint of the nation and the gatekeepers, and we are prepared to support the service in every way we can. We will continue to support you all the way.”
