Akinsanya pledges massive roads construction/grading in Igando-Ikotun LCDA

THE Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya has pledged to commence the massive grading of streets, road construction, and more people-oriented projects/programmes in the Year 2024, noting that next year’s projects will push the council area to greater heights.

The council Mayor made this pledge in his keynote address during the council’s Community Development Committee (CDC) and joint Community Development Associations (CDAs) Executives' last meeting of the year and end-of-the-year party.

Reeling out his achievements in the last two years, Akinsanya said the planned infrastructural development for the Year 2024 is sure to place the Igando-Ikotun LCDA on a higher pedestal among the comity of LGAs/LCDAs in Nigeria. 

Some of the projects executed in the last two years, according to the council Mayor, include grading streets roads, rebuilding and equipping Ikotun Primary Health Care with modern equipment, constructing drainages to fight floods, restoring serenity within the council Secretariat, which made the environment conducive for staff and visitors.

Also, primary schools within the council area were not left out, as Akinsanya purchased landed property worth N30 million for the construction of a Primary School at Isheri-Oshun Community, renovation and construction of blocks of classrooms, equipped with modern chairs and tables at Olukotun Ategbo Primary School, training and empowerment of over 250 youths in various skills, and various ongoing road constructions within the council area, among others.

Earlier in his speech, the Community Development Committee Chairman, Hon. Pastor Ojo Samuel, said that the CDC Executives have been repositioned in the community to make sure they are well coordinated for the development of the communities that made up the LCDA. 

He further charged the newly inaugurated Joint CDAs coordinators for Self-Help projects to put in more effort on information dissemination and also act as a channel between the CDC and the community.

The celebration, which took place at the council Secretariat, had in attendance the council Helmsman, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, the Executive Vice-Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Mojisola Badmus, Deputy Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Ganiyu Wahab, Supervisor for Agric and Social Services, Hon. Olufemi Abolarinwa, and Head of Department of Agric and Social Service, Mr Babatunde Saba, among others.
