MULTIPLE award-winning artiste, Burna Boy, has revealed a career path he would have ventured into but had to abandon to pursue music.
The Grammy award winner revealed he could have been a footballer and played as a goalkeeper, but felt he was unimportant in the game, as he believed the team would be alright without a goalkeeper.
During a conversation with British-Nigerian media personality Julie Adenuga, Burna Boy said, "I love football. I was good at playing football, but the wickedest thing was that I was good at goalkeeping. That’s why I just stopped because [goalkeeping] was dead.
"I didn’t feel so important. I just didn’t feel like I was needed like that. I felt like without me the team will still be alright. I don’t want to spend my life like that."
The artiste's decision to leave football and focus on music has, however, worked out for him, as he has gained both domestic and international recognition for his unique music style.
