Portable regains freedom from Police custody

Portable had paid only N13 million after purchasing the vehicle, which was worth N27 million. He was said to have refused to pay the N14 million balance, which prompted the car dealer to involve the Nigerian police.

HABEEB Okikiola, popularly known by his stage name, Portable, has regained his freedom after he was arrested on Tuesday by the Lagos State Police Command.

The music artist was forcefully arrested on Tuesday over his alleged refusal to complete payment for his luxury car, the G-Wagon.

According to reports, Portable purchased a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from a car dealer, Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos) but failed to complete the payment at the agreed time.

Portable had paid only N13 million after purchasing the vehicle, which was worth N27 million. He was said to have refused to pay the N14 million balance, which prompted the car dealer to involve the Nigerian police.

The “Zazu” crooner has now regained his freedom after he was granted bail as revealed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benajmin Hundeyin.

The spokesman speaking to Vanguard on Wednesday evening said, “I have no idea about it but what I can say is that he (Portable) has been granted bail.”
