SCHOOL life is one of the most important stages in the life of a person. It is the period during which one learns the basic principles of behaviour and social interaction between people from different backgrounds.

Most people think that after secondary school one already has freedom, but this is not so. After secondary school, life continues. In the polytechnic, there are so many kinds of people with diverse behaviours; some are friendly while others are bullies, some are humble and some are full of pride and arrogance.

Life in the polytechnic can be very tough. Like every other place of higher learning, polytechnics are full of so many challenges. Education is at the highest level and the lecturers can be very demanding with tons of assignments, tests, and examination every semester.

In the polytechnic, there are so many people who are unserious, they come late to classes and sometimes don't even bother to come because they have the belief that they don't need their certificate to work anywhere. These students believe that they are sorted with money already.

In the polytechnic, there are so many teenagers and youths who have made their way into cyber crime (also known as yahoo). These young men and some ladies think they can actually buy off their certificates by giving the lecturers a token of money or doing other favours. These students dress to impress and oppress their colleagues in school. They are the set of unserious students in the school who love to be flashy just for the attention.

Some students, however, face many problems with feeding and paying the school bills. We call this problem SAPA (Serious Absence of Purchasing Ability). This is the point where students will soak garri and wait for minutes so that it rises very well in the bowl.

Finally, education comes at a price steeper than our school fees in Nigerian polytechnics. Students have to navigate through some obstacles in the form of hunger and peer pressure. Despite these problems and challenges being faced in school, school life at the polytechnic is the best.
