NATIONAL Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has finally announced that he will not turn down the clamour for him to become the next President of Nigeria by his political supporters.

Tinubu said this on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in Abuja after a closed-door meeting with members of the Northern Alliance Committee.

The APC leader said “I am not going to turn them (Nigerians) down, but I will still effective and widely consult, particularly brainstorm with my friends and find a date to come out openly and tell Nigerians.”

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu also encouraged continued support for President Buhari.

“The president is still in office. I don’t want to distract him from all the challenges that he might face today. So, we will consult and make our programmes known to the people later and the intention is clear. So, you keep guessing.”

Several members of the All Progressives Congress, including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have called for the elder statesman to vie for presidency in 2023. Tinubu is currently touring the country and solidifying diplomatic ties across all geopolitical zones.
