Democracy Day: Lagos Commissioner appeals for peace ahead of June 12

THE Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Segun Dawodu has appealed to the Nigerian youths to shun acts of violence as the nation prepares for the 2021 Democracy Day on Saturday, 12th of June.

Dawodu made the appeal on Wednesday, 10th of June, 2021 in his office at Ikeja when he hosted some members of the Lagos State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. 

He advised the youth to employ appropriate channels to air their grievances and to avoid situations that will bring chaos or public unrest. 

He also mentioned that his administration is concerned about youth development and have been taking measures to ensure the growth and stability of the youth. 

“The Ministry of Youth and Social Development has embarked on numerous programmes and executed different projects across the State in this regard", he said.

Dawodu also advised parents to watch over their children and monitor their movement to avoid being lured by elements with disruptive tendencies.
