1. NECO RELEASES 2023 SSCE RESULTS, HOW TO CHECK3635
The National Examination Council has announced the release of the results of the 2023 Senior Secondary School Certificate to anxious students and parents after a bit of delay. It would be recalled that NECO concluded the conduct of the examination in early August 2023.

2. TELECOM OPERATORS PROPOSE TARIFF HIKE FOR VOICE, DATA SERVICES6023
Telecom operators, under the auspices of the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), have asked the new Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, to issue policy guidance to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to commence implementation of targeted interventions, starting with an upward review of voice call rates, among others.

3. LAGOS COURT SENTENCE POLICEMAN TO DEATH BY HANGING FOR KILLING PREGNANT LAWYER6004
A Lagos High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, on Monday, October 9, 2023, sentenced a dismissed Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Drambi Vandi, to death by hanging for killing Gbenga Raheem’s pregnant lawyer wife, Omobolanle Raheem.

4.  JANKARA, BOMBATA, PELEWURA MARKETS WILL BE DEMOLISHED – LASG5990
The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced that the Jankara, Bombata and Pelewura markets in Lagos Island will be demolished to allow for urban regeneration of the area, adding that “these markets have outgrown and outlived a market in a modern city, so they must give way for urban models.”

5. ADEBAJO DISTRIBUTES SCHOOL BAGS, BOOKS TO PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS IN MOSAN-OKUNOLA5930
The Executive Chairman of the Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Princess) Olabisi Adebajo, has distributed customised school bags and notebooks to Primary School pupils in the LCDA.

Popular Nigerian Afrobeat star, Davido and his wife, Chioma, have supposedly welcomed a set of twins in the US. Reports suggest that the couple, who lost their son, Ifeanyi, in a tragic drowning accident last October, welcomed a set of twins on October 9, 2023.
