IN a bid to mitigate the impact of the recent fuel subsidy removal on the residents of Alimosho, the Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Alimosho Constituency II, Hon. Kehinde Olaide Joseph, has distributed the food packages of the Lagos State Government to the people of Alimosho Constituency II.
The grassroots-friendly Lawmaker, during the distribution process, ensured that priority was given to widows, people with disabilities, and pensioners, who are considered the most vulnerable in the Constituency.
Briefing newsmen in Egbe-Idimu LCDA of Alimosho LGA, the Lawmaker said that Governments across all levels are aware of the challenges the citizens are facing due to the recent removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.
Kehinde Joseph, however, reiterated that the Lagos State Government had started the implementation of the 50% reduction in BRT fares and commercial buses as well as free health care service to pregnant women in the State.
"You will recall that on September 3, 2023, Mr Governor flagged off the food bank programme, with a goal to reach about 500,000 households in the State as well as 250 Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.
"Such is what we are doing today by monitoring the distribution process by ensuring those in need are reached out to," he added.
The beneficiaries, while receiving the food packages, appreciated the Lawmaker and the Lagos State Government for reaching out to them. Each food pack contains rice, garri, beans, oil and other items.
