THE members of the All Progressives Congress in the Alimosho Federal Constituency have embarked on a door-to-door campaign to appeal for votes for the re-election bid of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu ahead of the Gubernatorial polls scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The big question hangs in the air; is the Lagos APC jittery? Are they really prepared for Peter Obi's influence in the election? This weekend, over 6 million Lagosians will be expected to be at the polls to elect the next governor. However, the party does not seem to have recovered from the Peter Obi shock in Lagos, wherein he beat the APC in their domain.

According to statistics, in Alimosho LGA, an APC stronghold, Peter Obi won with a total of 71,327 votes to defeat Bola Tinubu who scored 62,909 and Atiku Abubakar with 8,201 votes.

Similarly, Peter Obi also won in Lagos State with 582,454 to defeat Tinubu who had a total of 572,606 votes, and Atiku who got 75,750 votes.

VANGUARD reports that members of the state executive council and chieftains of APC have been directed to embark on door-to-door campaigns to canvass votes from residents and aggrieved party members in order to ensure victory.

“We have embarked on a door-to-door campaign to appeal to residents on the need to come out en-masse and vote for APC. We have been to Agege, Ojo, Badagry, Alimosho, Ikeja, Apapa, Kosofe, Ibeju-Lekki, among others,” Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to Sanwo-Olu confirmed.

How well this strategy will work out will be visible on March 11. But for now, all parties are putting finishing touches to their schemes to ensure victory!
