LASEMA issues advisory, warns against use of candles indoors

FOLLOWING the constant cases of fire outbreaks in Lagos, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has issued an advisory to Lagosians, informing them of things to watch out for to prevent fire outbreaks in their area.

The Agency gave out this warning in a Facebook post where it also encouraged residents to use the 112 line in reaching out when infernos arise.

To avoid fire outbreaks, the Agency encouraged residents to put off appliances when not in use and desist from using mobile phones in the kitchen.

It also said that residents should avoid using candles and other naked flames indoors and desist from using mobile phones beside generators.

Lastly, the Agency admonished residents not to leave their cooking unattended, as this may burn and possibly lead to a fire. 

With these tips, the Agency believes that there may be a possible reduction in cases of fire outbreaks.
