THE Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Alimosho Federal Constituency, Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba (Mayor K.K.), attended the Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representatives on Housing, Lands, Urban, and Regional Development (Budget Defense Session of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development) held on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
During the Joint Committee Meeting and project defence, Ayuba, who is the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Interior, highlighted the deplorable state of roads in Shagari Estate and Gowon Estate in the Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area of his Constituency.
He urged the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa and officials of the Ministry to consider the Estate roads for rehabilitation, and they were promptly acknowledged for further action.
The Ministry's priority projects in the 2024 budget include, among others, the construction of 20,000 housing units under the Renewed Hope Agenda Housing Scheme to provide affordable housing and reduce the housing deficit bedevilling Nigeria; the completion of the construction of National Housing Programmes in 35 states of the Federation; and the ongoing construction of Federal secretariats in 11 States of the Federation, which are at various construction stages.
The Joint Committee orchestrated a thorough evaluation of the 2023 budget performance and deliberated on the 2024 budget project proposals with the various MDAs.
