2023 ELECTIONS: Free and Fair Election with no chaos is our responsibility!

"Let's cast our votes, ensure our votes are counted and the results verified, and then we go home hopeful."- Kaokab.

Hon. Kaokab Aroworatira Ibraheem

We are only five days away from the elections. There is every need for us to remain peaceful and abide by all electoral guidelines. During the campaign season, there were no major incidences of violence or loss of lives. That peace should be replicated at the polls!

With the introduction of the BVAS and other mechanisms like card readers and online transmission of votes facilitated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I am confident that the elections would be free and fair. However, let us all remember that peace is priceless and terror is senseless and we all must ensure there is peace to consolidate INEC's effort. Hence, let us ensure that whatever the outcome from our various polling units, there is no need to be violent!

Alimosho is the most populated LGA in Nigeria and, as such, it will be in the spotlight both in the media and for observers as the results from all six LCDAs will determine, to a large extent, who emerges our Governor in Lagos State and the President of our dear country.

Conclusively, the 2023 elections will come and go, but Nigeria will remain and we all must remain. Let us not put our lives at risk for anybody's ambition. Let's cast our votes, ensure our votes are counted and the results verified, and then we go home hopeful. Let us not cause needless chaos!
