WITH news spreading on the possibility of Barcelona resigning Lionel Messi at the end of the season, Barcelona boss, Xavi, has spoken about what the player could bring to the team.

Last week, during the Copa Del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Madrid which ended 4-0 in favour of Madrid, supporters took to chanting praises of Lionel Messi.

The same was done yesterday, as fans again made their feelings clear after chanting Messi's name during Barcelona's La Liga goalless draw against Girona at Camp Nou, indicating they want the Argentine back at the club.

“The fans appreciate where we are, explains the former midfielder. But we are missing the title. Leo generates hope. They have been chanting his name for two games. Let's see if that happens. We focus on this season, we have to win La Liga," Xavi said in the post-match interview.

Xavi, who captained Lionel Messi during his days as a player for Barcelona, will be delighted to have the multiple Ballon d'Or winner back with him being a manager at Camp Nou, as it seems the player's time at PSG is coming to an end.
