Wilfred Ndidi out, Innocent Bonke in

Due to an injury, 26 years old Lorient midfielder, Innocent Bonke has been called up to replace the injured Wilfred Ndidi at the qualifying fixture.

LEICESTER City's defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, will not be able to represent Nigeria at the World Cup Qualifiers fixture against Ghana on Friday and next week Tuesday.

The 25-year-old, who has been a regular player for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, will no longer be in the selection after he suffered a knee injury in Thursday’s 2-1 defeat to Rennes in an Europa Conference League clash.

Due to the injury, 26 years old Lorient midfielder Innocent Bonke has been called up to replace the injured Wilfred Ndidi at the qualifying fixture, this was made known Via the Super Eagles of Nigeria's verified Twitter page; the tweet read:

"Camp update: Innocent Bonke has been called up as a replacement for injured Ndidi for the World Cup qualifying games against Ghana. Get well quick Wilf"

Innocent Bonke is not new to the Nigeria team as he had his maiden call up under former manager Gernot Rohr and made is debut on the 7th of September 2021 in a World Cup Qualifier against Cape Verde.
