ARSENAL'S Manager, Mikel Arteta. was seen having a conversation with Manchester United defender, Lisandro Martinez after a 2-0 loss against the Red Devils at the pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Many claimed that the conversation between Arteta and Martinez was based on a dangerous challenge on Bukayo Saka, which left a lot of Arsenal fans furious at the Argentine 2022 world cup winner.
However, Arteta has denied having such a conversation with the 25 years old, claiming he was only checking up on the player who recently returned from injury.
“I was just happy to see him over there. I know him personally. I was happy to see him back after the injury, and that’s it, it is about the sport.
“It’s about the people we know, and we wished each other good luck for the season, and that’s it. It was a really good competitive game for us,” Arteta said.
The Gunners will continue their pre-season games against Barcelona tomorrow at the SoFi Stadium in California, while Manchester United will play Real Madrid tomorrow at the NRG Stadium in Texas.
