The Super Eagles proved to be the bigger team at the AFCON tournament, reaching the finals of the competition but unfortunately losing the trophy to the host nation, Ivory Coast while the Black Stars of Ghana didn't make it out of the group stage.

Alex Iwobi, who is having a good time at Fulham, has made it clear that they won't be joking with Ghana when they meet, as they intend to give their 100 per cent against one of Africa's football powerhouse.

“It’s a game against one of our rivals, a nation that is close to us, so we will give our hundred per cent and try to get a good result,” the Fulham star told the Super Eagles media.

The friendly game is meant to prepare both teams for the forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers taking place later this year. Surprisingly, the last time these two teams met was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier playoffs where Ghana came out victorious.
