SUPER Falcons of Nigeria star, Nicole Payne will spend the rest of the season in the United States of America's NWSL club, Portland Thorns.
The 23-year-old, who has a contract with Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-German will spend the rest of the season in the NWSL with Portland Thorns on loan.
Payne, who joined PSG in July of 2023, has struggled for playtime as she only managed two appearances for PSG, with her first on January 20, 2024, in the victory against Girondins de Bordeaux.
“We’ve acquired defender Nicole Payne on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain of the Division 1 Féminine in France,” the club said in a statement.
The American-born player made her debut with the Nigeria Women’s National Team in June of 2021 against Jamaica, as she and her sister, Toni Payne, make history as the first sisters to play for the Super Falcons.
Nicole Payne now joins Asisat Oshoala on the list of Super Falcons stars to play in the American League. Recall that Asisiat Oshoala also swapped Spain for the US after her transfer to Bay FC from Barcelona.
