The 42nd place ranking in the World means the Eagles remain in the top 50 in the world and ranked sixth in Africa, behind Morocco (13th), Senegal (20th), Tunisia (28th), Algeria (30th), and Egypt (33rd).

However, the Super Eagles are ahead of the Black Stars of Ghana, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, and the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire, and will be hoping to move higher when the Africa Cup of Nations kicks off on January 13, 2024.
