FORMER Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has referred to his former boss, Ronald Koeman, as someone who lacks personality.

The 34 year-old Uruguayan left the club last year after newly appointed manager Ronald Koeman told him through a phone call that he was not part of his plans.

Suarez eventually left Camp Nou to join Atletico Madrid in a £5.5 million deal, helping them win the Laliga title in his first season at the club.

Speaking with Gerard Romero's 'Jijantes FC' Twitch channel via MARCA, Suarez revealed  what was said on the phone call;

"The Koeman phone call to tell me that he was not counting on me lasted 40 seconds, it is not the way to get rid of a legend," Suarez said.

"First he told me that I would not be in his plans and then he told me that if I did not resolve my contract I was going to play (in the first game of the season) against Villarreal.

"He lacked personality to tell me things clearly, if he did not want me or if it was really the club that did not want me."

Luis Suarez came back to haunt his former club yet again as he scored the second goal against Barcelona in last month's 2-0 victory to Atletico Madrid, one of the many precursors to Koeman's sack last week.
