Juventus and Portuguese forward, Christiano Ronaldo, will miss out of Champions League reunion with former La Liga rival, Leo Messi as Juventus take on Barcelona in the El Classico on October 28, due to coronavirus.

The forward tested positive for coronavirus during international duty for Portugal and has been self-isolating since then.

However, after weeks of self-isolating, the Portuguese tested positive again to the virus which means he will be unable to play in the coming fixture as he would have to observe another 10 days self-isolation.

Ronaldo insisted he followed the guidelines and protocols upon testing positive.

"A gentleman here in Italy, whose name I won't mention, said I didn't obey the protocol -- that's simply a lie," Ronaldo said.

"I followed all the protocols and I will continue to follow them, my conscience is clear.... Everything I did was authorised."

This will be a huge blow to fans who wanted to see legendary rivals go head to head even if it is for one last time.
