THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play against the senior team of Costa Rica on November 10, 2022, in an international friendly game in the country’s capital, San Jose.

Costa Rica, who are among the national teams that will be partaking in the 2022 FIFA World cup in Qatar, intend to use this avenue to train and prepare themselves for the huge task ahead while the three times African Champions will test their strength ahead of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

The NFF wrote in a statement: “The Super Eagles will confront the senior national team of Costa Rica in a prestigious international friendly in the country’s capital, San Jose on the 10th of November.

"The three-time African champions have been invited to the Central American nation as part of major activities to send forth the Los Ticos to the Fifa World Cup finals in Qatar.”

Costa Rica who made it to the quarter-final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil has been drawn into Group E of the tournament where they will have to deal with Spain, Germany and Japan, should they intend to surpass their best FIFA run, and if possible, win the trophy.

For the Super Eagles of Nigeria, having failed to qualify for the World cup tournament, they can only test their strength and strategies against teams that qualified as they will travel to Lisbon to try Portugal after the friendly against Costa Rica, three days before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
