SUPER Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen will continue the rest of his club campaign under a new manager after Walter Mazzarri was sacked as Napoli’s manager.
The 62-year-old, who was appointed to replace Rudi Garcia, who was also dismissed this season, has received his marching order after Napoli played out a 1-1 draw against Genoa in their Serie A clash last Saturday.
Napoli, who are the reigning champions of Italy, are not giving a champions vibe as they are in ninth position and 27 points behind runaway leaders, Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A.
With few hours left to a Champions League fixture against Barcelona on Wednesday at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Napoli have turned to Francesco Calzona to take over the managerial role.
Calzona, who also holds a role as manager of Slovakia, is expected to juggle both sides and will take charge of his first training session on Monday ahead of being thrust into the spotlight against Xavi's Spanish giants.
The 58-year-old Italian is expected to count on Victor Osimhen, who recently returned to the club after one month representing Nigeria at the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
