JOSE Peseiro has confirmed that he won’t longer be in charge of the Super Eagles of Nigeria and has now parted ways with the team.

The Portuguese tactician, who took the Super Eagles of Nigeria to the finals of the 2023 AFCON tournament that saw the Eagles finish as runner-up, has ended things with the NFF.

Peseiro revealed this in a terse post on the social media app, X, on Friday.

“Yesterday, we concluded our contract with the NFF. It was a pride and honor to coach the Super Eagles. It has been 22 months of immense dedication, sacrifice, emotion, and enormous enthusiasm. We feel a sense of fulfillment,” he wrote.

The 63-year-old is a target for Algeria and Tunisia who are offering a bigger contract and pay than he earned during his time in charge of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

As for the Nigeria senior men's football team, the NFF would need to appoint a new coach as soon as possible as they are just weeks away from the start of the 2026 Africa World Cup qualifiers.
