NIGERIA VS GHANA: CAF agrees to Ghana '40,000 spectators' request

Also, CAF agreed to have the competition take place at the Baba Yara Sport complex, thereby granting a one-match approval for the Kumasi based facility.

THE Confederation of Africa Football, CAF, has granted Ghana's request to have 40,000 spectator at the Baba Yara sport complex ahead of the crucial World Cup Qualifiers fixture against Nigeria.

The match which was at first scheduled to take place at the Cape coast stadium was eventually changed to the Baba Yara Sport complex which at first was not approved by CAF.

After much deliberation, CAF agreed to have the competition take place at the sport complex thereby granting a one-match approval for the Kumasi based facility.

Now Ghana Football Federation has revealed that CAF has also agreed to allow 40,000 spectator watch the game between the two football giant scheduled for tomorrow.

"The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved Ghana’s request to admit 40,000 spectators for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off first leg match against Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi,” a statement from the GFA website read. 

“The GFA consequently advise all Ghanaians to obey all laid-down safety and security measures strictly so to have a successful match, and also to avoid any sanctions from CAF and FIFA.
