WITHOUT a Head Coach, the NFF is considering the reappointment of Jose Peseiro as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Recall that the 63-year-old, who led the Super Eagles to second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, left the post in February, following the expiration of his contract.

The NFF then appointed Finidi George to take charge of the Eagles, but the relationship didn’t last as the former Enyimba boss resigned due to the NFF's decision to appoint a technical director.

Report now suggests that Peseiro, who was recently linked with the Head Coach role at South African club, Mamelodi Sundowns, is now being considered again for the role ahead of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

“Yes Vodia Sports International Management offered Jose Peseiro to Sundowns, though the Nigerian national teams are interested in bringing him to take over again,” Gerald Baloyi, who works with local agency Vodia Sports International Management revealed.

The NFF is expected to announce a new team manager before the team’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya in September.
