FORMER Paris Saint-German and Barcelona star, Neymar Jr. has recounted Lionel Messi's last days at the club and the manner he was treated.

PSG had hoped that having an attacking lineup of Mbappe, Neymar, and Messi would secure them their first Champions League trophy, but little went right as the Ligue 1 club failed to do so.

Lionel Mess,i despite being one of the club's best players, was often the one to be blamed, as he was also criticised by the club's fans, while some even jeered the 7-time Ballon d'Or winner as he came out to play for the club.

“Messi left in a way that, for football, he didn't deserve. For everything he is; everything he does, anyone who knows him knows he is a guy who trains, who fights; if he loses, he gets angry, and he was unfairly treated, in my opinion.

“But at the same time, I was very happy that he won the World Cup. As you said, football was fair this time, since the Brazilian team lost, Messi deserved to end his career like this,” Neymar told  Brazilian outlet Globo.

Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. ended their journey at Paris Saint-German, securing moves to Inter Miami and Al-Hilal, respectively.
