BAYERN Munich's midfielder, Thomas Muller, gave a simple but accurate analysis on why Barcelona lost to them at the Champions League fixture yesterday.
Barcelona already suffered a 3-0 defeat at Camp-Nou at the first leg, and were hoping to redeem themselves yesterday but fate would not have it be as they suffered another 3-0 defeat in Germany, knocking them out of the Champions League, and into the Europa League.
Muller, who is very familiar with Barcelona as he as scored more goals against them than any opposition in the Champions League, pinpointed Barcelona weakness when speaking to DAZN.
“Barca cannot cope with intensity. Technically and tactically, they have it all, he said.
“But at the highest level, they cannot match the intensity of the game.”
Barcelona defeats to Bayern Munich means they get a demotion ticket to the Europa league. It’s the first time Barca has crashed out of the group stage of the competition in 21 years.
