EIGHT times Ballon d'Or winner, Lionel Messi has named the best two clubs in the world and surprisingly, Barcelona and PSG were not on the lips of the Argentine.
Despite spending most of his career at Barcelona, the Inter Miami forward did not mention the Catalans as one of the best clubs in the world but rather picked arch-rivals, Real Madrid and Premier League club, Manchester City.
“Real Madrid is the best team in the world, they have won the Champions League.
“If you go by results, Real Madrid is the best. If you go by level of the game, I think Manchester City are the best,” Messi said.
Manchester City under the leadership of Pep Guardiola won the Champions League last season, as well as winning the domestic league four consecutive times, adding a few other trophies to the mix.
As for Real Madrid, they have enjoyed a routine success, winning this year's Champions League trophy and also winning the La Liga under the guidance of Carlo Ancelloti.
