CHELSEA Manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has revealed the various positions Christopher Nkunku can play for the Blues in his starting lineup ahead of next season's football campaign.
The 25 years old, who was gotten from RB Leipzig for £63 Million, started as a striker in Chelsea's pre-season games against Brighton on Saturday, July 23, 2023, scoring the first goal for the Blues in a 4-3 win against the Seagulls.
Pochettino reacted to claims that Nkunku would be used in the centre-forward position in the Chelsea squad next season as he revealed that the player can play in different positions.
“Well, I think Nkunku can play in different positions,” Pochettino told Chelsea TV.
“For the circumstances in these two games, we use him as a striker, but he can play like an offensive midfielder, like a No.10, like a No.8 or on the side also.
“But he’s a fantastic player, and he’s improving every day,” he added.
Chelsea will continue their pre-season games against Newcastle on Thursday, July 27, 2023, before playing Fulham on July 30 and then conclude the pre-season against Dortmund on August 3, 2023.
