WEST Ham is edging close to strengthening their defence options before the transfer window shuts down by aiming to sign Kurt Zouma from Chelsea.
The Hammers have been in talks with Chelsea over a deal for the 26-year-old and a report suggests that a verbal agreement has been reached between both clubs.
West Ham has already prepared £26 Million for Chelsea, which was the London club's asking price.
However, agreeing on personal terms with Zouma has been difficult as the France defender is holding out for a salary of £125,000 per week.
Should the deal go through, Zouma will become West Ham’s highest-paid player.
Although Tottenham Hotspur has shown interest in the defender, West Ham United remains the favourite to sign him should a deal be agreed between the club and Chelsea.
