HEAD Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro, has made it clear that his intention is to win the 2023 AFCON title with the national team in Cote d'Ivoire
Jose Peseiro, whose contract expired in June, was given a short-time contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, which would see him guide the team to the 2023 AFCON.
The 63-year-old short-time contract is a six-month deal that will expire at the end of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, set to be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire between January 13- February 11, 2024.
The AFCON tournament could as well be the Portuguese last ride with the Eagles as he aims to make it a glorious one and win the title in February.
“Me and my staff did everything in order to stay here to train these players and reach the big goal – win the AFCON title,” Peseiro told Brila FM.
The CAF Executive Committee at its Congress in Algiers has already announced that the official draw of the Africa Cup of Nations Ivory Coast 2023 will be conducted on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
