Jorginho blames himself for World cup fall out.

THE football world was shocked to the bones yesterday when North Macedonia defeated the reigning champions of Euro Italy to knock them out of the World cup qualifiers.

THE football world was shocked to the bones yesterday when North Macedonia defeated the reigning champions of Euro Italy to knock them out of the World cup qualifiers.

This simply means that Euro2020 champions won't be going to the World cup in Qatar. In fact it is the first time in history that they have failed to qualify for the tournament two consecutive times.

The incident did not sit well with Chelsea and Italy midfielder, Jorginho, who blamed himself for  the situation they find themselves in. Recall that the midfielder had lost two penalties against Switzerland during the first round of the qualifier which could have secured them top of the table.

"It hurts when I think about it, because I do still think about it and it will haunt me for the rest of my life," the Chelsea midfielder told RAI Sport.

"Stepping up there twice and not being able to help your team and your country is something that I will carry with me forever,

North Macedonia stoppage time goal takes them closer to the World cup as they only need to defeat Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. A difficult task wait ahead.
