CHELSEA and senegal goal keeper, Edouard Mendy, has finally spoken about not being named in the 30 man Ballon d' Or list.

The goalkeeper who won the Champions League trophy with Chelsea was not included in the 30 man Ballon d' Or nominees list.

A number of football fans and Chelsea supporters are surprised that the Senegalese international was cut out from the list of the forth coming prestigious football award.

Mendy himself who had a  performance  worthy of a Ballon d' Or award last Saturday against Brentfors have now spoken for the first time since the snub.

"Do I think it’s an injustice? No, I wouldn’t use that word," Mendy told Canal+, as translated by Sport Witness .

"It’s something that motivates me to go forward, to work and be performant  at club level and with my country, and as I said after the game with the national team, it’s the journalists’ freedom of vote and expression, and they vote honourably and conscientiously.”

Also, Sadio Mane who plays for the same country as Mendy, and was nominated in year 2019 and 2021 described the omission has regrettable.
