PREMIER League club, Chelsea, has officially confirmed a new ownership of the club after weeks of deliberations and negotiations with various suitors.

Recall that the club has been under sanction by the UK Government after current owner Roman Abramovich’s ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin came to light, which caused Abramovich to withdraw from an active role in the club.

The club has now confirmed a new ownership with the owner of LA Dodgers, Mark Walter, and Swiss billionaire, Hansjorg Wyss, who both have reached an agreement to acquire Chelsea FC in a deal worth around £4.25 billion.

Chelsea's statement reads “terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club”.

The club has achieved tremendous greatness during the Abrahovich era winning all possible trophies which include the Premier League title, FA Cup, League Cup The Champions League trophy, the Europa League trophy, and the FIFA Club World Cup trophy.
