IT'S no longer new news that Barcelona is interested in signing Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling, but due to the current financial situation, the club is considering other alternatives.

According to barcauniversal.com, Barcelona is considering two Chelsea players as alternatives to Raheem Sterling in the January transfer window.

Barcelona is targeting either Timo Werner or Hakim Ziyech on a possible loan deal in January as the club is currently suffering from a financial crisis.

Irrespective of the crisis, the club Manager, Xavi Hernandez, is looking to boost his attacking options in January, Werner has gone down the selection table at Chelsea after the signing of Romelu Lukaku while Hakim Ziyech has only started two games for Chelsea this season.

However, Barcelona will still need to offload some players in January before it can make an attempt  for either of the players so as to free some space on its wage bill.
