Awoniyi wins Player, Goal of Month award

SUPER Eagles of Nigeria forward, Taiwo Awoniyi has won the Nottingham Forest Player of the Month and Goal of the Month award for August.

Awoniyi has made at least a goal contribution for Nottingham Forest's Premier League game this season, bagging three goals and one assist for the Steve Cooper side.

The 26-year-old strike in Nottingham Forest's 3-2 loss to Manchester United was the goal that won the club's Goal of the Month, getting 38 per cent of the votes.

He is also among the players nominated for Premier League Player of the Month alongside Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison, Manchester City's midfielder, Rodri, Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, Brighton & Hove Albion forward Kaoru Mitoma, and West Ham's Jarrod Bowen.

The former Union Berlin man, who scored in seven consecutive games, will be aiming to add to his tally when Forest hosts Burnley on matchday five of the Premier League.
