THE pre-season friendly between Arsenal and Barcelona will still take place despite news of a possible call-off due to Barca players catching a virus.

The Red and Blue team have released a statement assuring fans and supporters that they would honour their pre-season friendly with Arsenal next Wednesday despite the virus incident.

Barcelona said in a social media post: “FC Barcelona would like to encourage its fans to attend and enjoy the game we are going to play this Wednesday against Arsenal at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

“Both teams are in close contact, and we both have the utmost confidence that our game will go on as planned.”

The Gunners lost their pre-season game 2-0 against Manchester United on Saturday and would be hoping to make amends when they play the Catalans.
