Andre Onana depart for Cameroon after United's game

The player was allowed to play for United yesterday after Manchester United reached a cordial agreement with FECAFOOT to keep the goalkeeper until the day before their AFCON kickoff.

MANCHESTER United and Cameroon shot-stopper, Andre Onana has departed Manchester United and is set to join the Cameroon national team for the ongoing 2023 AFCON.

The former Inter Milan goalkeeper, who is supposed to be representing his national team at the AFCON23, was in goal yesterday during Manchester United's Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, which ended 2-2.

The player was allowed to play for United yesterday after Manchester United reached a cordial agreement with FECAFOOT to keep the goalkeeper until the day before their AFCON kickoff.

The deal saw the 27-year-old Cameroon international feature in United's FA Cup third-round tie against Wigan Athletic and their game against Spurs at Old Trafford.

Onana, who has received massive criticism since joining the Red Devils for conceding close to 50 goals in the past four months, is expected to join his Indomitable Lions of Cameroon teammates ahead of their AFCON opener against Guinea slated for Monday evening.
